As part of his CRU speaking engagements in Singapore, we had the privilege of having Josh McDowell speak at our morning service on the topic “Is Jesus really God?” from Matt. 16.13-17. Years back, I was able to attend an apologetics talk he gave, but did not get to talk to him.
Unbeknownst to him, at the age of 15, I had a crisis of faith (mostly having been raised as a second-generation Christian with inherited faith), and his conversion testimony (how he started out making it his lifegoal to disprove Christianity after being challenged) and the book that came out of his years of research, leading to his coming to faith after being confronted by the truth of Christ and Christianity’s claims, Evidence that Demands a Verdict, led me to my own conviction of Jesus as Lord and Saviour, and my commitment to serve Him all the days of my life.
Thankful today for the opportunity to thank him personally for being a vital part of my journey of faith, and to have his book signed 🙂
