Since February this year, a group of four of us have been meeting, ever since the idea for a Guys Prayer Support (GPS) group emerged during our prayer and discussion times during the recent Pastors’ Prayer Summit (PPS) in Malacca. Three of us were at the PPS, namely Ian, Wei-En and myself, and Clarence has been joining us as well.
The first amazing thing about this group is that even though three of us were schoolmates (me & Ian since secondary 3-4 classmates; me, Ian & Wei-En in ACJC, serving in Christian Fellowship and/or Student Council), the 4 of us somehow or other knows at least 1-2 of the rest through other connections as well. Wei-En and Clarence were NS mates, and I was SEA studies classmates with Clarence in NUS.
2 of us are serving in Methodist Churches, Ian in Kum Yan, Clarence in Toa Payoh (previously with CRU), Wei-En in The Bible Church (independent), and myself in Woodlands EFC. Being in different churches, of the same age, and of a younger generation of pastors, helps us to be authentic and vulnerable with one another, sharing joys, struggles, and keeping each other in mutual prayer and support. I thank God for this group, and look forward to sharing life and ministry journeys together in years to come.

[…] We have been meeting since Feb, once a month. Happy to note that one more has joined our little GPS (guys prayer support), Clarence Lim, my NUS SEA classmate and staff at Toa Payoh Methodist. Read more about our GPS group here. […]
