CT ran an article on recent findings by Grey Matter Research on reasons for people visiting church websites.
Some interesting statistics:
- Among Americans who are online, 15% have visited the website of a local place of worship in the last 30 days, 28% have done do within the past 6 months, 36% within the last year.
- In the past 12 months, over 17 million American adults who don’t regularly attend worship services visited the website of a local church or place of worship.
- Of those people visiting congregational websites, 43% check to see times of services, 29% to check what activities are offered, 28% to look for a map or directions, 26% to watch streaming video or listen to streaming audio, 22% to see what the church’s religious beliefs, and 18% to request for prayer.
