Hull makes 2 important observations of why churches struggle to make disciples,

  1. The church continues to try and reach the world without making disciples.
  2. Being a disciple is much more important than creating a plan to make other disciples.

I told [my] church that the Great Commission is more about depth than strategy, and being spiritually transformed is the primary and exclusive work of the church. I told them believing the right things is not enough – being a Christian means actually following Jesus.
